For the fourth time, the Otto Mønsted Foundation awards The Bright Idea Prize and a total of DKK 500,000 to some of our best talents at Danish universities. (Application deadline 28 February 2022)
For one of the country’s most successful businessmen, Otto Mønsted, helping promising talents and ideas on their way had a very special place in his work. By the time he died, he had fully demonstrated what innovative development of margarine can lead to in terms of jobs and value for Denmark.
In the spirit of Otto Mønsted, in 2022 the Otto Mønsted Foundation will award the Bright Idea Prize for the fourth time, totalling DKK 500,000. The award targets promising talents at Danish universities with the right innovative idea, project or process and where the money can make a significant difference to the further development of the ideas.
The Otto Mønsted Foundation awards two prizes in the following areas:
250.dKK 000 for the best Early-stage idea and
250.dKK 000 to the best Late-stage idea
About the candidates:
- Nominations are generally accepted from undergraduate/graduate students, PhDs, and postdocs affiliated with one of the eight universities in Denmark. You can apply individually or on behalf of a group.
- A bright idea with commercial potential that has managed to combine academic insight with strong business acumen.
- Ideas that have previously received major awards (over DKK 200,000) cannot be nominated for The Bright Idea.
- Applicants who have previously been rejected are again eligible for nomination for The Bright Idea in 2022
The nomination period ends 28 February 2022 and a jury will select the winners, who will be announced on Wednesday 25 May 2022 in Frederiksberg.
