The countdown has begun for the foundation’s Bright Idea 2025 awards ceremony on 5 November.
This is the seventh year in a row that the Otto Mønsted Foundation awards the Bright Idea prize and a total of DKK 500,000 to talents from Danish universities.
The Bright Idea 2025 is awarded in two categories, early-stage and late-stage, with DKK 250,000 in prize money for each of the winning ideas, which in the jury’s opinion is convincingly innovative and has significant commercial potential.
This year, cash prizes of DKK 20,000 will also be awarded to the other two finalists in each category who do not win the grand prize.
Festive award ceremony in Øksnehallen
The announcement of this year’s winners will take place during the Digital Tech Summit (free admission) in Øksnehallen on 5 November on the Startup Stage at 16:00. Afterwards, we and the country’s universities invite you to a drink where you can meet known and new partners from both companies, funding and universities.
The Otto Mønsted Foundation will also have a stand close to the Startup Stage, where we hope that many will stop by again this year. We will also be joined by a 130 cm tall robot from Hive Robots, which will give most people a new perspective on the capabilities of robots.
The application deadline for The Bright Idea 2025 ended on 24 August. As in previous years, the submitted research ideas will be judged by a jury that represents a broad field of high professionalism and innovation with jury members from industry, representatives from the Danish Export and Investment Fund, Bioinnovation Institute, universities and more.
The jury assesses this year’s submitted ideas based on excellence in thought, communication, analysis and documentation. The ideas must also demonstrate business vision and understanding and contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The jury behind The Bright Idea Award consists of:
